Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles has been a staple of the Scottsdale community for as long as I can remember and I couldn’t be more thankful. Serving up soul food and kool-aid in mason jars, Lo-Lo’s has some of the best fried chicken in the area. Coming here for brunch last weekend was an absolute treat and a staple on my must eat list when I am entertaining out of town guests.
You all must know by now that I adore mimosas and if you do too, Lo-Lo’s definitely has you covered. For brunch they offer them for $3 a glass with varying fruit toppings. They are a little orange juice heavy for me but delicious nonetheless.
Now on every visit, I get some version of what they are known for – chicken and waffles. I am definitely a white meat kind of girl so that usually involves some mixture of the breast or wings. On this particular visit, I decided to go with the breast and waffle combo.
The breast was a little on the dark side – indicating an oil change was necessary – but the wing was perfect. The chicken, as always, was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My mouth is literally watering as I write this. The waffle tastes as if it is some sort of malt batter and was equally as tantalizing. With hints of cinnamon and the warm maple syrup and I was in heaven.
The service is always attentive and friendly at Lo-Lo’s so you almost feel as if you are visiting a long lost cousin on every visit. I’ve only ever ordered the chicken and waffles while at Lo-Lo’s but I am definitely looking forward to coming back at some point to try some of their lunch/dinner fare. If you haven’t already, you need to run-not walk- your way over to Lo-Lo’s chicken and waffles in Scottsdale.
