The Princess Switch

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it is officially time to get into the full swing of the holiday spirit. In my family, that means watching every holiday movie known to man. I’ve actually been a big fan of Vanessa Hudgens for a while now (and it has nothing to do with us sharing the same name, I swear!), so I was actually looking forward to her holiday special on Netflix.

The Princess Switch is just as cheesy and cliched as it sounds and I loved every second of it. The parent trap (or should I say husband trap?)-esque film was extremely predictable but it contained everything I love about holiday films. There was over the top romance jammed into every Christmas tradition known to man. There were snowball fights and Christmas tree ornament decorating. Carol singing and toy shopping for the disadvantaged also made appearances in this film.

Vanessa Hudgens was completely endearing in The Princess Switch, horrible English accent and all. Not to mention she was absolutely breathtaking in her princess dress. Alexa Adeosun, playing Kevin’s daughter Olivia, was adorable and a fun addition to the cast.

If you are looking for a heartwrenching, dramatic, theatrical holiday film, this is not the film for you. Now, if you are looking for a fun , light-hearted film to kick off your holiday season then check out The Princess Switch, now out on Netflix.
